Lindsay and I ordered breakfast, and were met with wet roads outside the Sports bar ,and a much cooler day. In went the rain proof liners for our gear , by the time we got underway the drizzle had stopped, and the sun was breaking through the clouds. We had a few hiccups with the route as new roads have replaced old ones but they have retained the old road number, therefore the TomTom was showing a ride across open fields where Lindsay's must have been showing a different route. I think our maps revisions were not in sync or something, but either way eventually we got to the coast and I found it easier to stick to the route on my paper map in my tank bag (the old fashioned way). We were treated to a wonderful bit of coastline twisting up and down revealing sandy beaches completely deserted, and now by this time a clear blue sky.
Eventually we reached the cape, a bit busy with tourists and stripped down to our shorts (used the empty panniers to store bike gear) and went for a wander..
0km ... This is the last point on the Camino. The pilgrims way.
Light House.
Later, we continued riding north and stopped for a spot of lunch, me a Spanish omelette and Lindsay a spag Bol . We continued north to reach San Adrian a very picturesque spot, void of tourists along some great coastal roads way off the beaten track.
While riding back in-land over high land we came a across a row of wind farm generators rising up out of the mist rolling in from the sea. Quite spooky, so we stopped to take a look and couldn't believe how much noise they made.
The temperature had dipped to 18 by now, quite pleasant as we ride back into Santiago via a twisty fast pine forest road. Great day out .. 180 miles today. Tomorrow we head for Porto in Portugal.
